Terms & Procedures

-
Bleaching (Teeth
Whitening): The procedure of brightening or
whitening colored or stained by an 1-day power
bleaching at the cosmetic dentist or by an at-home
whitening system.
-
Bonding:
An enamel-like resin is bonded to the teeth's
surface, formed to an ideal shape and then hardened
and polished.
-
Bridges:
A bridge carries new crowns to fill an empty space
in the mouth
-
Composite
Resin: Tooth-colored filling material made
of resin which contains silica or porcelain
particles.
-
Crown: A
cap which replaces a missing part of the tooth. A
crown covers much more than a veneer.
-
Dental
Implants: To replace missing teeth an
anchor is implanted into the jaw which then can
carry a new crown after the anchor has healed.
-
Porcelain: Ceramic tooth-colored
material. Very robust and perfect for natural
looking teeth.
-
Porcelain
Veneers: A very thin, custom-made veneer
which is bonded to the front of a tooth. Minimal
invasion. Long lasting tooth whitening solution.
Alternatively there are cheaper composite resin
veneers.
-
Orthodontics: Crooked teeth can be
straightened with braces. Today there are almost
invisible and more comfortable braces which can also
be removed.
